Laboratory of Quality Control for Bee Products
APHIS was set up  in the framework of INFRAS Programme, in order to give ?? Quality Certificates for beekeepers in Transilvania and the whole country, who want to valorize on internal and  external market their beekeeping products.
The Laboratory is a part of  University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca and develop it’s activity  in the Department of Beekeeping and Sericiculture. A broad range of physico-chemical analysis of honey and other beeproducts are performed in our laboratory. Also identification and quantification of possible contamination with antibiotics, pesticide residues and heavy metals.  By sensorial analysis are evidentiated  major frailties and possible adulteration. Botanical and geographycal  origin of honey is appreciated by microscopic analysis of pollen grains, morfological characteristic and content,  resulting a valuable criteria for establishing the quality of honey..
 RENAR accreditation was obtained after implementation of Quality Management System, the analysis follow the demands of SR EN ISO/CEI 17025:2005. The main goal of our lab is quality control of Romanian bee products, for certification and protection on the European market.  The analysis are performed on modern equipments, conformed  with the legislation and quality norms of European Union.
Management and analytical team of the lab, comprises specialists from animal husbandry – apiculture, chemistry and food technology  field of activity.  Beside the accreditated analysis, our lab is developing another series of modern procedures for determining  other nutritional parameters of honey and bee products and contaminant analysis: antibiotics and  their metabolites, pesticides, acaricides, insecticides and heavy metals.
